Anyone else's Easter egg collection look a little out of control?
This is my mom's stash. When we were little, she would do this giant egg hunt for my family, my cousins, all of our friends, and neighbors. It was a big deal!
Now she does an egg hunt for all 20 of her grandkids, plus us kids still. I know, we are probably a little too old for it, but we still love it!
Anyway, she buys new eggs pretty much every year. And she still has eggs from about 20 years ago.
They are looking a little sad.
So I went through her stash, took out all the "bad eggs", and got my craft on.
But this is about as far as I got before other duties called.
My sister brought her little boy over for an impromptu Easter photo shoot.
As I was setting up, Kota Bear and her sisters were playing in the living room.
Without warning, Bear broke out in a curdling scream.
And to make a long story short, we ended up at the InstaCare.
Where we waited...
(Sorry about the fuzzy picture. I took it on my phone.)
And then we got the bad news.
She broke her elbow!..
By running into the couch!!!
Weird, huh?
Anyway, so we went home and tried again to take my nephew's pictures. By then it was late and the lighting sucked, so the pictures were lousy. I was frustrated, and had enough, so there was no more egg-spiraments for me on Saturday.
Sunday was taken up with family stuff.
So I finally got to finish my egg-cilent creation late last night.
What do you think?
I think it needs a little something more, but I can't figure out what.
It's not egg-sactly there yet.
Any suggestions?
I've got a whole carton of "bad eggs" lying around, so you are sure to see some more egg-citing crafts from this chick.
Oh my goodness! I hope she heals quickly! How scary!
ReplyDeleteLove the eggs and how you displayed them in the frame. I actually like it as is...the only thing I might add is something at the stems (like a ribbon?), but again, I like the minimal look!
Absolutely adorable! I'm loving this and highlighting today at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com. Grab my "featured" button.

ReplyDeleteYAY! I'm glad to hear that somone elses's mom does that too. My mom has a hunt every year for all of use and friends too on her 40 acre farm. Such great memories!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about her broken elbow. I'm sure it hurt. Poor thing!
Your eggs look awesome!
The year my oldest daughter got married she started the Easter egg hunt. He own little one was just tiny, but she loved putting it together for her 9 brothers and sisters. Now she has 11 brothers and sisters and 3 kids of her own. We have a great time looking for eggs and candy and little treats and avoiding the huge crazy circus at the local park.
